30711006 1712027605552855 8730307287308042240 nWithin the framework of the Erasmus+ Menasafe project, MUBS organized, in collaboration with National Road Safety Council on April 18, 2018 Menasafe Open Day and Road Safety Symposium.

The Menasafe Erasmus+ project main objective is to share EU best practices, innovative experiences and knowledge to support the development of new/existing courses, capacity and knowledge building in traffic safety at the partner universities in Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt. MUBS Postgraduate Diploma in traffic safety was developed as part of the project activities and officially announced and launched during the Open Day. The event was held under the Auspices of H.E the Prime Minister of Lebanon Mr. Saad El Hariri and was attended by representatives from all stakeholders in Lebanon including Directorate General for Higher Education, National Erasmus+ Office, Council for Development and Reconstruction, Lebanese Red Cross, Internal Security Forces, Traffic, trucks, and vehicles management authority, Beirut Traffic Management Center, Engineering Companies, Road Safety NGOs, Municipalities, Universities, Students. The opening session included speeches from MUBS, National Road Safety Council, National Erasmus+ and the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher education.

30740471 10215786977805930 5836775884278726656 nThe representatives of MENASAFE Project during their stay in Jordan visited Jordan Traffic Institute. The cooperation between the Jordanian Universities and Jordan Traffic Institute is of the greatest importance to improve road safety.

KunhadiOn March 22, 2018 MUBS signed a MOU with Kunhadi in the field of traffic safety. Kunhadi is a non-governmental organization (established in 2006) for youth awareness on road safety. The two parties agreed to undertake, subject to the regulatory framework and availability of resources of both, initiatives in the following areas : joint traffic safety projects, joint traffic safety conferences, and sharing traffic safety published materials. In addition, MUBS will grant preferential discounts to Kunhadi members on its postgraduate diploma in traffic safety developed within the framework of the Menasafe Erasmus+ project funded by the EU.

DSC 0379 previewNext MENASAFE consortium meeting took place in Madaba in Jordan on the 9th – 13th of April on the premises of German Jordanian University. European Universities presented final versions of teaching materials, discussed the Master Programme in details, the universities from Partner Countries presented the equipment the laboratories will be equipped with. The consortium meeting was followed by the study visits in Road Safety Center at GJU Architecture School and Jordan Traffic Institute.

Road Safety Webinars cover road safety issues and are presented by the professors from Technical University of Valencia, Linköping University and Gdansk University of Technology.
